Panama City, FL

kitskat184Jan. 9th, 2010 10:20 pm A New.... Beginning?

Hi everyone. It's been a while since anyone has posted anything to this group, other than the former mod's resignation post.

So I'd like to take this time to introduce myself:

I'm Kate L. I'm 25, almost 26, married, and living in Callaway since Aug '09. I work at an employment agency. Besides being married, I'm planning a dream wedding in April (it's a military thing, getting married twice) so with work, wedding stuff, and spending time with my husband and 3 dogs, life's pretty full at the moment....and now I am going to attempt to revive this sleeping community.

Before I moved here, I imagined that I would be pretty enamored with the beach. I've always been a water baby, I love the ocean like it's a lover (not like THAT you dirty minded people!) and it was a great suprise to me that once living here, my favorite part of this town is actually downtown, not the beach.
Downtown is awesome. I absolutely love the old theatre and I look forward to every "First Friday" at the Rabbit Hole to catch some local musicians at the open mic night. Another good thing about PC is that there is at least one bar doing karaoke every night of the week- and I'm a karaoke fiend!

So yeah. I'm out to wake ya'll up and hopefully get this community back to par-level with posts... so here's a question for you- and when you answer, please post your name/initial, what area of town you live in, and an interesting fact about you.

Was Panama City Mall actually decent before they built Pier Park?

Take care ya'll- we'll see ya next time.

This community has been dormant for nigh-on four years, and I don't forsee a sudden surge in interest anytime soon.

If anybody would like to take custody of this page, let me know by 8 January 2010. If nobody is interested, I'm going to delete the account.

Hello everyone!

Me and my mom are planning on moving sometime around this summer. We currently live in Naples. We were looking at the Lynn Haven or Panama Beach City area. Can anyone tell me about the high schools and beaches, or any real estate for sale. Anything is appreciated. Please feel free to IM me at Karrie338

tiedtograceMar. 16th, 2005 07:59 pm Differences between home and here.

Awesomeness... I am Amy and I am awesome. I use to live in Panama City, (12 YEARS!!! *dies* and I made it out ALIVE!!!) Acctually I just moved to California and saw some of my other friends were watching this community so what the hell...

So I have my interesting story of the day, because I am so awesome that I only have one a day.. I know... watch out anyways.. Being in California is ALOT different than Panama City. Case in point. KFC.

California has KFC, but they are ALOT different from PC case in point there is probably only one per county in CA as opposed to PC which maybe has three maybe four.. and Cali Def doesn't have the Buffet. Okay ANYWAYS!! I went to dinner at the KFC and out of curiosity and hunger I ordered some Fried Okra... The guy at the counter looked at me like I was speaking Spanish and said WHAT?

"You know Fried Okra? KFC sells it."
"What is fried Okra?"
"Are you serious? Its a vegatable thats green. that you fry."
"Never heard of that"
"What? KFC serves them! Have you ever heard of Friend Green Tomatoes?"

Once again he was VERY confused.

Another thing people in Cali don't understand is Winn-Dixie.. Every time I exlain I mention Winn-Dixie everyone looks at me like I am one of the beverly hill billies.

THOUGH!!! in LA I saw a Po Folks....

and no one carries SWEET Tea!!!!!

What the hell?? The closest anyone has is a Rasberry Tea and its def not sweet tea.

Anyways... Hello!!!

sacredchao23Mar. 11th, 2005 11:12 pm introductions

Hi, I'm new to this community and I thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm 23 years old and like many people that I've met of my age here, I find Panama City, well less than ideal. Anyway, I'm going to be around until the fall and I thought I'd make the most of it. Feel free to check out my journal or you know ask any embarrassing questions.

And I thought I'd also post that the Panama City Highland Games & Scottish Festival is tommorow (Saturday the 12th), at Grace Presbyterian Church grounds at Airport and Lisenby. I've never been to the Scottish festival here but I enjoy Celtic music so hopefully it'll be a good time. I've heard Tinker's Dam is pretty good.

Mods, please delete if this is not acceptable

Hi to all Panama City Residents!

I am the owner and moderator of patriotpenpals, a PC based organization. We are a small, grassroots group staffed entirely by volunteers and funded exclusively by donations. Our sole purpose is to provide friendship, support and encouragement to military personnel deployed overseas. Our volunteers send letters, cards and care packages to deserving military men and women as a way to show our appreciation and thanks for all that they do. If you have a spouse, family member, friend or loved one who is deployed and would enjoy receiving additional mail 'from home', please contact me. We would love to be able to support our local heroes!

Need additional information? Would you like a registration form for your Service Member?

Hello all. I finally figured out how to write to the community ^_^.
Yeah, I had some time to spare, so I managed.

Anyway, I've got some sad news (or happy, depends on the person).
I'll be leaving Panama City soon. I'll be leaving for good (from Florida) in the year 2006.
(If something goes awry, then I will be here till 2008)
